Chapter 593 Narcissa's Vow

Chapter 593 Narcissa's Vow

Chapter 589 Narcissa's Vow

These two letters had different effects.

Lucius immediately realized that the situation in Europe was about to change drastically and that war was imminent.

But all Narcissa had was endless worry for Draco.

As expected, the two people, who were completely on different wavelengths, had another big argument.

The result of this argument was————

Narcissa left Malfoy Estate, and the two officially separated.

She found a secluded place to live in the countryside near London, where she felt powerless.

What can she do in a situation like this?

"Bella—can you promise me something?"

Yes, Narcissa found Bellatrix, hoping to use this "loyal subject of Voldemort" as a starting point.

Find a way out after Malfoy's failure.

"No. This is the master's order."

Even if Narcissa didn't say what it was about, Bella knew what she wanted to say.

This is part of the master's plan, how could it be interrupted?

Therefore, she rejected Narcissa's request without any hesitation.

"If—I mean if—"

Narcissa managed to utter those words, her voice barely audible, her eyes filled with struggle and pleading.

"Could you—save his life?"

Bella gave a cold laugh, as if she had been offended.

"Are you questioning your master's judgment? His choice of Draco was a favor, not an honor your son deserves. And now you're talking about a way out?"

"It's not a way out."

Narcissa looked up, tears glistening in her eyes.

"Yes—it's the way out. You know he's just a child, he can't do it. He's not you—he's not Severus. He's too young—if you grant me this request—I'm willing to pay—pay—any price—"

A hint of hesitation flashed in Bella's eyes, as if the phrase "at any cost" had touched her.

The owner seems to like that kind of vibe —

If possible, wouldn't it be better to————

The master has many women, but wouldn't it be beneficial for him to have even more women connected to him?

"Since you've put it that way, I can agree to your request."

Bella finally relented, but then changed the subject.

"But to ensure you won't regret this agreement, I have to make an unbreakable vow with you."

Narcissa was stunned, then nodded vigorously, as if grasping at the last straw.

"Okay—okay. An unbreakable vow," she murmured repeatedly.

Bella waved her wand, black threads swirling and dancing in the air, when she suddenly realized that something was missing from the ritual.

We need a witness.

However, this is not a problem, as Peter the Little can serve as a witness.

He also has experience in this area.

About half an hour later, Peter Pettigrew arrived.

In the presence of Peter the Pettigrew—

Bellah extended her right hand, and Narcissa placed her hand on top of it with trembling hands, their palms pressed tightly together.

Little Stark looked at Bella and asked, "Did you swear that if Draco fails, you will do everything in your power to save his life, no matter the cost?"

Bella answered clearly, "I swear."

A thin line of flame shot out from the tip of the wand and wrapped around their hands.

Little Stark then looked at Narcissa and asked, "Have you sworn that if Draco fails, you are willing to pay any price to cooperate with Bella's rescue?"

I swear.

The second flame quickly intertwined, like snakes coiling around vines, tightly binding the fates of the two together.

The moment the vow was fulfilled, the flame vanished in a flash, leaving only a faint burn mark between the palms.

Narcissa breathed a sigh of relief, her legs went weak, and she almost collapsed to her knees.

Bella grasped her arm, supporting her, a barely perceptible sneer playing on her lips: "Now, my dear sister, you should seriously consider what exactly the price you're willing to pay."

Narcissa was stunned, her face turning even paler.

But she did not back down; she simply nodded slowly and whispered, "I will—keep my promise. As long as Draco lives."

Malfoy never imagined that his letter would cause such a turn of events.

He didn't even think about it; at that moment, his mind was completely focused on the plans to come.

Three more days.

Three days later, everything will be revealed.

Three days is a short time; for some, it's over in the blink of an eye. Three days is a long time; for others, it feels like an eternity.

The latter is a true reflection of Malfoy's inner self.

The day before the plan was to be implemented, Malfoy convened a tactical meeting of the pre-war action team.

Participants: Malfoy, Crabbe, Ginny.

"Are you ready?" he asked.

Crabbe nodded as usual, his face expressionless, and muttered something under his breath.

"Be ready to act at any time."

Ginny stared at Malfoy for a while before slowly nodding.

"I'm ready. As long as you make sure that door can be opened, I can hold Phillips off for enough time."

Malfoy walked to the blackboard, pointed to the densely drawn battle sketches, and whispered, "This is our last rehearsal."

"From the Room of Requirement to the principal's office, we have less than a three-minute window of opportunity before others can react. Spells, concealment, control, transfer—every step must be precise."

This refers to:

Three minutes is enough time for the other professors at Hogwarts to catch up.

Once the time exceeds three minutes, all sorts of unexpected events are likely to occur.

When Professors McGonagall and Flitwick arrive—

This would plunge the entire raid into a quagmire, and Hogwarts would be their main battlefield.

If things get mired in a quagmire—Dumbledore might just come over too.

What will be left for everyone then is—

His gaze swept over the two of them, his expression calm to the point of being almost suppressed.

"I'll say it again, this is war. If we lose—either you die, or I die."

What Ginny really wanted to ask was, why didn't everyone die together?

But clearly now is not a good time.

Crabbe frowned, clearly uneasy.

Ginny, however, chuckled, a light laugh tinged with a hint of chill.

"I'm not afraid of death," she whispered. "I'm only afraid of meaningless failure."

Malfoy nodded.

"Very good, tomorrow night at eight o'clock —"

He paused for a moment, his gaze falling heavily between the two of them.

"Failure is rebellion, success is—"

Ginny and Crabbe simultaneously raised their hands, just like Malfoy, and placed them on their chests.

"We will fight with all our might!"
