Chapter 435 Professor, did you sleep well last night?

The next morning, the cool morning light streamed into the room through the gaps in the curtains.

Sean sat on the edge of the bed, looking wearily at the thin, pale figure in the blankets, a mix of emotions surging within him.

He...did regret it after all.

Things have developed to this point completely beyond his control.

He has always been a calm and methodical person, and his plans for relationships were no exception. However, Luna's boldness, straightforwardness, and even undeniable persistence caused him to break his own plans.

The first one... is actually Luna.

Sean never dreamed of this.

Just as he was pondering this, a knock on the door broke the silence of the room.

"Phillips, breakfast is ready!" Xenophilius's voice came from outside the door, as warm as ever. "I even made some honey lemon tea, come and have a taste."

Sean snapped back to reality, glanced at Luna in bed, and felt his inner turmoil intensify.

He hesitated for a moment, then finally sighed and gently patted Luna's shoulder.

"Luna, it's time to wake up..."

'

Luna stirred in bed, but didn't open her eyes. She simply turned over, pulling the blanket tighter, and a muffled voice came from inside: "Let me sleep a little longer, Uncle Huck."

Sean frowned, and finally decided not to wake her up.

He slowly got up, tidied his disheveled clothes very gently, then pushed open the door and went out.

Upon arriving at the restaurant, Xenophilius was standing by the table setting out breakfast.

Upon seeing Sean, he flashed a bright smile: "Ah, Phillips! Good morning! Did you sleep well last night?"

Recalling the madness of last night, Sean nodded: "Not bad, thank you for your hospitality."

As Xenophilius set the table, he muttered casually, "It's really strange, though. I knocked on Luna's door several times, but she didn't answer. Looks like she overslept again. That kid's getting lazier and lazier lately."

Upon hearing this, Sean almost choked on his breath, his expression freezing for a moment. "She's probably just too tired. I saw how exhausted she looked when I came over yesterday."

"Yes, she's been looking listless ever since she came back this semester." Xenophilius shook his head helplessly, then picked up a pot of tea and poured Sean a cup of tea with great enthusiasm. "Here, Phillips, try this tea. I specially made it with a new recipe last night."

Sean took the teacup and took a small sip. Although the tea smelled delicious, his mind was clearly not on it. He forced a smile and said, "It's very good. You really have a thoughtful touch."

"Of course, after all, you're a guest, I can't neglect you," Xenophilius said with a smile, then looked down and fiddled with the cutlery on the table, completely unaware of Sean's somewhat strange behavior. "Speaking of which, Phillips, you're quite special too."

"Oh?"

"Luna rarely cares about anyone this much. She always prefers to be alone, but ever since she heard you were coming here, she's become a completely different person. Even your liking for honey lemon tea was something she told me."

Sean didn't reply, but just lowered his head and continued drinking his tea, his mood becoming increasingly complicated.

And so, breakfast was spent in this rather strange atmosphere.

in the afternoon.

Sunlight streamed through the thick clouds, warm but not glaring, enveloping the entire forest in a languid atmosphere.

In front of Xenophilius’s house was a wide meadow, and several large trees at the edge of the meadow swayed their leaves in the breeze.

Xenophius took a worn but thick blanket and spread it on the grass in front of the door, then lay down casually, put his hands behind his head, closed his eyes and enjoyed the rare warm sunshine.

He looked like a comfortable cat.

The cat that had been through the ordeal.

"Phillips, come here, getting some sun is good for your body and mind," he called out lazily.

Sean hesitated for a moment, but eventually went over and sat down in one corner of the blanket.

His movements were somewhat stiff, and his gaze unnaturally avoided the direction to the side.

At this moment, Luna was lying on the other side of Xenophilius, quietly looking up at the sky, seemingly completely immersed in her own world.

"Dad, you should enjoy days like this more often," Luna said softly, her voice especially gentle in the breeze. "Sunshine doesn't stay in one place forever, and many beautiful things are fleeting."

"You make it sound so easy," Xenophilius said with a smile, opening one eye. "But I think you should put down those strange books and learn to enjoy life instead of getting bogged down in those bizarre studies."

Luna didn't respond, but instead slightly turned her head to look at Sean.

"Professor, what do you think? Shouldn't we cherish the time spent in the sunshine?"

Sean was taken aback by her sudden question. It was just an ordinary greeting, but because of everything that had happened last night, he felt inexplicably guilty in front of Xenophilius.

He subconsciously lowered his head, pretending to adjust his cuffs, and replied somewhat perfunctorily, "The sunshine is indeed nice, but I think everyone has their own preferred way of enjoying it."

Luna didn't speak, but smiled slightly and turned her gaze back to the sky.

Sean turned to Xenophilius, trying to distract him with something: "Xenophilius, this meadow looks nice. Do you often rest here?"

"Oh, no, not at all," Xenophilius replied lazily. "But whenever the weather is nice, I come out to sunbathe, feeling like a magical lizard absorbing sunlight."

Sean smiled and was about to reply when Luna suddenly said softly, "Professor, did you sleep well last night?"

Sean's smile froze slightly, then he nodded: "Hmm—not bad."

Luna's lips curled into a slight smile as she said with a hint of amusement, "I'm glad you slept well; after all, it's very quiet here."

Suitable for relaxation.

Sean looked down and fiddled with the blades of grass, avoiding her gaze: "Indeed, the environment here is very nice, perfect for calming down."

Xenophilius seemed oblivious to the subtle tension between the two, continuing to lie there and say to himself, "Luna is right, this place is peaceful. Otherwise, those busy professors at Hogwarts wouldn't be able to enjoy life properly."

After saying that, he yawned, lazily got up from the blanket, and stretched. "Well, looks like I've had enough sun. I should go check on my magic plants—those dandelions are growing quite well lately." He chuckled and patted Sean on the shoulder. "You two keep chatting, I won't bother you."

After saying that, he swayed and walked towards the backyard, humming an unknown tune.

Sean watched Xenophilius leave, his heart filled with mixed feelings.

Luna continued to gaze at the sky, her expression calm and unfathomable.

Sunlight shone on her face, casting a soft glow on her features. She seemed completely immersed in her own world, but Sean felt her presence invisibly fill the entire space.

After a moment of silence, Sean finally spoke, asking cautiously, "Luna, what are your thoughts?"

Luna slowly turned her head, her clear blue eyes fixed on him. "About what, Uncle Huck?"

Sean was taken aback by her direct question, and paused slightly before replying, "About last night."

Hearing this, Luna's smile deepened.

She rested her hands behind her head, maintaining her nonchalant demeanor, as if last night's events had no effect on her: "I've already made myself perfectly clear about what happened last night. My thoughts are my feelings. I don't think there's anything more to explain."

Sean frowned, his expression slightly complicated, and said, "Luna, some things—aren't as simple as you think. Especially since your father is right here—"

"I know," Luna interrupted him softly. "I've never been one to hide my feelings. Uncle Huck, I know what you're worried about, and you might even regret it, but those aren't things I want to change."

Sean was rendered speechless by her bluntness.

He took a deep breath and said softly, "Luna, I'm not denying your feelings, but I must emphasize that these feelings—are not so easy for us to handle."

Luna listened quietly without interrupting until Sean's voice gradually faded away.

She turned her head slightly and said in a frank and gentle tone, "Uncle Huck, I know you may think I'm too direct,"

You might think I don't understand things like "appropriate" or "boundaries," but in my view, emotions are the most real thing. Why make them complicated?

"Sometimes, complexity is for the protection of both sides." Sean's voice lowered, as if he were talking to her, or perhaps to himself.

"Protect what?" Luna's eyes remained unwavering, as if she could see right into one's heart. "If it's protecting your own peace..."

That I understand. But if it's about protecting me, Uncle Huck, you don't need to decide anything for me. I know what I'm doing better than you think.

Sean stared at her for a while, his Adam's apple bobbing slightly.

He felt that Luna was right, and he was even a little moved by her.

Finally, he sighed, lowered his head, and silently agreed, "Luna, your courage is precious to me. But I hope you understand that some things take time."

"Time?" Luna tilted her head and gave a light smile. "Uncle Huck, I have plenty of time, but emotions are a matter for now."

She paused, her eyes flashing slightly. "Besides, I can help you make her realize her feelings as soon as possible, can't I?"

"Help me?" Sean suddenly looked up.
