Chapter 234 Shy Jokins
Chapter 234 Shy Jokins
Chapter 234 Shy Jokins
Just then, an Auror in the kitchen suddenly shouted, "Mr. Scrimgeour, I have made a new discovery."
Upon hearing this, Scrimgeour quickly walked towards the kitchen.
Sean quickly followed, and saw the Auror standing in a corner of the kitchen, pointing to a seemingly ordinary stone slab on the wall.
A thin layer of moss covered the stone slab, but under the light of the Auror's illumination spell, some strange carvings and symbols could be vaguely seen.
"What is this?" Scrimgeour asked, frowning.
His sharp gaze swept over the symbols, trying to decipher their meaning.
Auror shook his head: "I don't know, but it looks like some kind of mechanism. I was trying to find clues, and that's how I found this."
Sean also leaned closer to examine it; the stone slab looked quite old.
"We have to try to open it."
Scrimgeour nodded, gesturing for the Aurors to step back.
He carefully reached out his hand and gently pushed it according to the order of the symbols.
The stone slab made a dull thud, then slowly moved to one side, revealing a dark hole hidden behind the wall.
A chilling aura emanated from the black hole, causing the people present to involuntarily frown.
Why do wealthy people often place their secret rooms in the kitchen?
Before Sean could make a move, Scrimgeour stepped into the black hole first, followed closely by Sean and the others.
They walked a few steps along the narrow passage, and then suddenly a wide underground chamber appeared before them.
The secret room was filled with all sorts of odds and ends, which looked like they had been hastily discarded there.
A faded map hanging on the wall caught Sean's attention.
He stepped forward, trying to make out the markings on the map, but the map was too blurry; he could only make out some locations and routes.
Just then, a faint, mournful whimper came from a corner of the secret room, like some creature struggling in pain.
The sudden sound made the three of them tense up instantly.
"What's that over there?" the Auror who had followed them in asked nervously, his wand already raised unconsciously. Scrimgeour gestured for him to remain calm, then slowly walked toward the source of the sound. "Be careful, it might be a trap."
Sean and Tonks, wands in hand, followed, carefully making their way through the cluttered goods, trying to remain as silent as possible.
As they approached, the whimpering became clearer, seemingly mixed with a faint cry for help.
Finally, they found a cage covered by a cloth at the deepest part of the secret room.
A figure was curled up in the cage, whimpering helplessly.
Sean wanted to go up, but Scrimgeour stopped him.
He glared at Sean, then rushed forward and pulled back the cloth.
The one locked in the cage was a young wizard.
He looked extremely weak and covered in wounds.
"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Scrimgeour asked in a deep voice.
His gaze swept scrutinically across the young wizard's face, finally settling on his scarred arms.
He noticed some unusual marks, like some kind of magical brand, which made his pupils shrink sharply.
"I am the owner of this manor, imprisoned here by a dark wizard," the young wizard's voice was weak and trembling. "And who are you? Please, save me."
"We are the Ministry of Magic," Sean replied briefly.
Upon hearing the words "Ministry of Magic," the young wizard's expression suddenly became very complex.
When he saw Sean behind Scrimgeour, his body began to tremble violently. After enduring immense pain and pressure, he could no longer hold back, his eyes rolled back, and he fainted.
"Oh no, he might need immediate treatment." The Auror behind him quickly made the assessment. Just as he was about to lift the young wizard out of the cage, Scrimgeour raised his wand and cast a binding spell on the young wizard.
Tonks looked at him, puzzled. "Mr. Scrimgeour, what are you doing?"
“He’s a notorious dark wizard,” Scrimgeour shook his head and replied.
Since returning from Bristol, Sean has been looking in the mirror constantly.
He fell into deep self-doubt.
Am I really that ugly?
He had never seen anyone so ugly that they could scare someone to death, especially when that person was himself.
Seeing the red heart flashing in Tonks' eyes, Sean felt that this answer was not objective enough.
After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
So when Jorkins came to deliver the report, he grasped at it as if it were a lifeline, and was quite eager to get a more "fair" evaluation from his female subordinate whom he hadn't paid much attention to in the past few days.
As soon as Johansson entered, Sean eagerly pulled her to the sofa, his eyes filled with anticipation and a hint of barely perceptible nervousness.
Jorkins was caught off guard by this sudden action.
Her cheeks flushed involuntarily, and her eyes avoided Sean's burning gaze.
"Mr. Phillips, what's wrong with you?" Jorgins asked, his voice trembling.
"Miss Jorkins, can you tell me what you think of me... how do I look?" Sean tried to make his voice sound natural, but the anxiety he was trying to hide still betrayed his unease.
Upon hearing this, Johansson became even more embarrassed.
She lowered her head, not daring to look Sean in the eye, her heart pounding like a swarm of butterflies.
She never imagined that her boss would suddenly ask her such a question.
"Mr. Phillips, I—I don't know how to answer." Joggins' voice was barely audible, and she felt her face burning hot enough to boil an egg.
"Just be honest, Miss Jorgins," Sean said rather sincerely. "I just want to hear your honest thoughts."
Despite how wonderful Sean was, Joggins still found it difficult to bring it up.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her panicked emotions, and then mustered her courage, speaking in a trembling voice:
"Mr. Phillips, I think you...you...look..."
After Johansson said those words, she felt her heart pounding even harder.
She dared not look Sean in the eye again, turned and ran toward the door as if a raging flood was chasing her.
She ran so fast that she almost crashed into the door frame before barely stopping.
She glanced back at Sean and found him standing there, his eyes filled with surprise and confusion.
For a moment, Johansson felt her face burning hot, so she quickly lowered her head and hurriedly left the office.
As she walked, she silently prayed that Sean wouldn't be angry because of her rudeness.
At the same time, she also felt a strange sense of regret and loss, as if she had missed an important opportunity.
The reason why Sean stood there stunned was
It was because Jorgins was speaking so softly that he...didn't hear what Jorgins said at all.
However, judging from Jorkins's expression, he already had an answer in his mind.
That is:
I'm definitely not ugly!
While Johansson's memory may be a bit poor, her sense of aesthetics is impeccable.
In fact, she was Sirius Black, James McAvoy, and Lupin's senior.
In Sirius Black's words, "She's an idiot, a busybody, but brainless, she has absolutely no brains."
Sean's assessment was...voluptuous, extremely voluptuous.
Her figure was extremely exaggerated, with two high and firm breasts, as full and plump as ripe peaches.
Her waist was slender and strong, while her hips were unusually full and round.
The muscles on the inner thighs are taut and well-defined, their firm lines faintly visible through the black stockings, creating a striking contrast with the slender calves.
Comparing the two evaluations, Sean's evaluation is more objective.
Sirius's impression of Jorkins was still based on their school days.
When did Yang Jins's situation change?
After graduating from Hogwarts, Jorkins worked briefly at the Daily Prophet before joining the Ministry of Magic, but was frequently "moved from one department to another, causing more trouble than he did."
He eventually arrived at the Department of Magical Sports, headed by Ludo Bagman.
On one occasion, Jorkins went to Barty Crouch Sr.'s house with some documents for him to sign.
Mr. Crouch was not home at the time, and Jorkins overheard the house-elf Sparkle talking to Barty Crouch Jr., who was supposed to be in jail.
Although Crouch Jr. was wearing an invisibility cloak and under the influence of the Imperius Curse at the time, Jorkins still managed to guess who was under the cloak and discovered the secret.
When old Crouch returned home, he had to cast a powerful forgetting spell on Joggins to make her forget the incident.
However, the spell was too powerful; it caused permanent damage to Jorkins' memory.
Johankins became forgetful after that.
Since becoming forgetful, Jorkins' life and work have undergone a dramatic change.
Already somewhat careless, she is now making even more frequent mistakes and forgetting important matters, which is making her career path increasingly difficult.
Every oversight or oversight in her work hindered the progress of the entire department, causing her colleagues to feel dissatisfied with her.
For a long time, this persistent sense of frustration and the alienation from his colleagues made Johansson feel an unprecedented sense of isolation and emotional abuse.
In the office, she was often excluded from discussions, and she couldn't find anyone to share lunch with.
This atmosphere gradually eroded her confidence, and her personality underwent a significant change from then on.
She began to feel more insecure, always worried that her every move would invite ridicule or dissatisfaction from others.
The man who was once willing to stand up and help others has now become timid and fearful, afraid that his involvement will bring more trouble.
She learned to be silent, to observe quietly from the sidelines, rather than actively trying to blend in.
This transformation is undoubtedly her deepest pain and the reality she least wants to face.
Tracing back to the source, every wrong has its perpetrator, and every debt its debtor.
The culprit behind this change in Jorkins was still Barty Crouch.
Currently, only Buddy and Sean know about this.
However, Sean has no intention of treating Jorkins, at least not at the moment.
The two people are not related, so he has no reason to do this.
But then again.
Since his appearance hadn't changed, the young wizard's reaction upon seeing him was rather intriguing.
Just as Sean was racking his brains, trying to figure out if he had seen that young wizard somewhere before, an uninvited guest arrived in his office.
