Chapter 221 Horrifying Terrorist Attack
The atmosphere instantly became tense when Sean walked into the office with a gloomy expression.
Sević was sitting at his desk, a pen in his hand, about to say something, perhaps about the progress of the work, or perhaps a lighthearted joke.
However, when he looked up and saw Sean's gloomy face, he swallowed his words.
Savage's intuition told him that what Sean needed at this moment was not trivial chatter or lighthearted banter.
He wisely chose to remain silent, simply nodding slightly as a greeting.
Jorgins did the same, or rather, her usual way of greeting was to nod slightly.
Sean gently placed his briefcase on the back of the chair, making a rather dull sound.
He took a deep breath, seemingly about to say something, but just then, a sudden commotion outside interrupted his thoughts.
He kept his mouth shut, deciding to wait until the noise subsided before speaking again. However, the noise outside grew louder and louder, like water in a kettle gradually boiling over, becoming impossible to ignore.
Finally, Sean couldn't hold back any longer. He looked at Savage sitting to the side and impatiently ordered, "Go outside and see what's going on."
Upon hearing this, Sevic immediately stood up from his chair.
He nodded quickly and replied, "Yes, Mr. Phillips, I'll go take a look right away." With that, he strode towards the office door.
He pushed open the door, and the noise from outside instantly flooded into the office like a surging wave.
Sevic frowned, trying to pinpoint the source of the noise.
He walked down the corridor and found that the noise seemed to be coming from the direction of the Auror's office.
When he walked into the Auror's office, the scene before him stunned him.
After a few minutes, Sean waited and waited, but Sevich did not return.
Moreover, the noise outside is many decibels louder than before.
He finally couldn't hold back any longer. After telling Jorkins to stay put, he strode out of the office.
After quickly determining the direction, he set his sights on the Auror's office.
There were countless people in the same situation as him in the corridor.
They were all people from various offices who had been forced to come out and check the situation because of the loud noise outside.
Sean even spotted Arthur among the group. He nodded slightly and gave Arthur a brief greeting.
She indicated that she had noticed his presence, and then walked straight toward the Auror's office without lingering.
When he pushed open the door, the scene before him stunned him.
About thirty Aurors, including Sević, sat together in front of a small blackboard, their faces filled with seriousness and tension, discussing something animatedly.
On the blackboard were seven or eight photos of wizards...dead.
Their deaths were varied and gruesome. Some wizards lay on the ground, their bodies twisted and deformed, as if they had suffered immense pain; some wizards had terrified expressions, their eyes wide open, as if they had seen something horrible in their final moments; and others were covered in wounds and bloodstains, clearly having gone through a fierce battle.
These photos, placed side by side, are enough to make one's heart pound at first glance.
Around the photo were the complex details of the case, various clues and speculations outlined in different colored ink. Sean's gaze swept over this information, and his heart sank.
Just then, Scrimgeour, who was in charge, also noticed Sean's arrival.
He coughed twice in dissatisfaction and said to Sean, "What are you doing here?"

"Let me see what caused such a commotion that has disrupted everyone's work on this floor," Sean replied calmly.
Scrimgeour wanted to say something, but now was clearly not a good time to argue. Besides, after yesterday, he knew he probably couldn't win an argument with this sharp-tongued writer.
In the end, you're the one who suffers.
So he didn't say anything, turned back, and continued discussing the details of the case with his subordinates.
They completely ignored Sean.
Sean wasn't annoyed by this. He waved to Savage, signaling him to come back to the office with him.
When they left the Auror office, a large crowd had already gathered outside. The two of them struggled to squeeze through the crowd and walk down the corridor. Sean saw Amelia walking towards the Auror office with a gloomy face.
Clearly, this case had alarmed her as well.
Back in his office, Sean sat down at his desk and gestured for Savage to report the information he had just gathered.
Sevic nodded, still looking somewhat nervous.
"Mr. Phillips, this was a premeditated terrorist attack." Savage's voice trembled slightly. "Early this morning, seven wizards were attacked almost simultaneously in different locations."
"Three people died in their own bedrooms while they were asleep, completely unprepared... The rest of the people engaged in a fierce battle with the attackers. According to witnesses, the battle lasted only two to three minutes. They only heard a few rapid incantations and screams before everything went quiet, to the point that they thought they were dreaming."
"When they mustered their courage and arrived at the victims' homes early in the morning, they found the doors open and the scene inside was horrifying."
"The victims' homes were in complete disarray, with furniture destroyed and signs of battle visible on the walls and floors. According to our Auror investigation, the victims had all suffered from the Cruciatus Curse before their deaths..."
"This was clearly a large-scale, organized, planned terrorist attack carried out entirely by highly trained wizards." As he said this, Sevich's face turned pale, and his eyes revealed an undisguised fear.
Admittedly, the heinous nature of this case exceeded everyone's expectations. It was not just a simple serial murder case, but also a serious challenge to the safety of the wizarding world.
Of course, Sean is included in the scope of "all people".
This was the first time Sean had heard of such a heinous incident since he came into this world.
The last time so many people died at once was during the time when Voldemort launched the Great War.
"Mr. Scrimgeour has contacted all available Aurors, and they are conducting a thorough investigation into the victim's social circle, workplace, and potential enemies," Sevich continued, "Meanwhile, just as I went in..."
The Auror Office has also requested more resources and support from the Ministry of Magic; they need more experts and Aurors to assist us.
"Have you contacted the Magic Enforcement Team about this?" Sean asked in a deep voice.
Sevic shook his head, his expression growing even more tense, as if the words he was about to say filled him with extreme unease. He swallowed hard, seemingly trying to calm himself.
Suddenly, he leaned close to Sean's ear and whispered, "The identities of these victims... might not be normal... Some of them, as far as I know, are connected to some illegal organizations, and may even be involved in some dark magic deals. They... are dark wizards."
"Hmm?" Sean looked at Savage with a puzzled expression, his brows furrowing even more. "Are you sure?"
“Yes, Mr. Phillips.” Sevich nodded. “Of these victims, I was tasked with tracking two of them. Although I didn’t find concrete evidence that they were dark wizards at the time, their past behavior, the people they associated with, and other clues all pointed to their identities as dark wizards.”
"Although they may appear to live the lives of ordinary wizards, they are likely involved in some illegal activities behind the scenes."
"I suspect that's why the Auror office took over this case."
